Bryans Auto Supply Press Release: 09/17/01
Dear Telegram,
I wanted to take a few moments and drop you a letter of praise and appreciation, for you and others, pertaining to the recent Old Rip Fest. The 15th annual Bryans Car Show was held in conjunction with the Old Rip Fest and despite the rains, it was again a great success. We appreciate your help in advertising this great yearly event as you always do a wonderful job of advertising it, and bringing the readers the complete event coverage. The town looked great and the numbers that turned out was unbelievable. There were many prayers and unifications taking place at the day's event and Praise God that our world is coming together as "One Nation Under God".
To start the day of events, preceding the annual parade, County Judge Brad Stephenson led everyone in a great welcoming with praying, singing, and other special tribute to all the victims, families, workers and leaders - all involved with the horrendous events in our country. People sure seem to be caring now and more appreciative of our way of life. We are glad, and give full support, of the Chamber doing this yearly event and are happy that the Chamber Executors decided to continue it despite the tragic loss of life last week. Everyone involved did a great job and as anyone could see, our community appreciated it too and was in great support as well. With all of these things being said, it sure makes the family at Bryans proud to be part of Eastland and proud to be Americans.
The 15th annual Bryans Car Show Awards were plentiful. There were 29 Acrylic Awards presented this year to participants from all around our local area. Outside our immediate area, participants come from Abilene, Stephenville, Sweetwater and even Fort Worth. One of the major attractions at the show this year was a Citgo NASCAR racecar converted into an enclosed 2 participant computerized racecar simulator. It was a blast and entertained hundred of kids and adults. There was no cost to enjoy this special attraction and if you didn't get to take part, you really missed something. Continatenal Battery representatives were on hand again to cook hamburgers for all the Car Show entrants and their families. After cooking 250 to 300 burgers, these guys were plenty tired.
Bryans Car Show is only successful by all of its continued customers and manufacturer supporters. We would like to thank our customers for their patronage as well as WM Automotive of Fort Worth and Parts Plus. These folks are all great people and they are Bryans key suppliers for the automotive market. We would also like to thank Coats Furniture, First Baptist Church and Edwards Funeral Home, from here in Eastland, for always making room for our yearly event. And of course, KATX Radio here in Eastland, for the live coverage of the annual event. We look forward to the 16th annual Bryans Car Show, as well as the Old Rip Festival, in being bigger and better than ever.
Sincerely,
Bryan Jackson
